Many young people today create digital media content, as a form of self-expression or to tell their “stories”. Through the web, they share their creations and travel across diverse communities, gaining multiple perspectives.
This spontaneous and “out-of-the-classroom” process enhances the acquisition of skills that are crucial for future participation in public life: communication skills, media literacy, interpretation skills, critical use of ICT etc. But this huge potential has not yet been fully exploited by European school systems.
One of the project’s goals is to promote the adoption of interactive digital storytelling in schools.
